We love Christmas at our house. My kids would probably say their favorite thing is presents. My favorite thing about this time of year is celebrating the birth of our Savior. What a wonderful gift God gave us when he sent his son as a gift to the world that we cannot even comprehend. What a wonderful, loving Heavenly father we have. So, as we enter into this holiday season, we are going to try to read a lot of books about this wonderful gift. Santa stories are great, but
Jesus stories are the best. Our families favorite Christmas story is called Alabaster's Song, Christmas through the Eyes of an angel. This is a wonderful book written by Max Lucado. I really love any book by him but this was is exceptional for children. It tells the story of a little boy who notices the angel on his Christmas tree when it starts talking to him. Alabaster tells the little boy about the joy of singing to Jesus at the first Christmas. My kids love the way Alabaster talks because he is missing his two front teeth.
The moral of the story is to keep looking for miracles at Christmas time in the small things. It reminds me to not get caught up in the bustle of Christmas and forget about the true meaning.
I think your family will love this story and we highly recommend it. Come back next week to see what else our family is reading during this Christmas season.
