I need ideas, Please

My husbands 35th birthday is coming up next week.

I'm panicking because I don't have him anything. I don't even have any ideas. Did I mention I also don't have much money? Our transmission went out of my Durango and is in the shop. So money for birthday gifts is really low on the list of things to spend on this month.

I would love some ideas for cheap (or free) ways to let him know how much he means to me.

What do you give the love of your life? Someone who supports me in everything (okay, not everything but most things) I do. The person who loves me in spite of all of my flaws (I know it's hard to believe but I do have them :) He is a wonderful husband, supporter and father.

I know that nothing can portray my love but I would like to try.

So, if you have any ideas, please share.

If you are reading this on facebook, please go to my blogpage and comment there because I don't get on facebook often.

Thanks everyone.

Hope this isn't too late, but here's what I did for Father's Day. I, too, was really watching our budget, but I wanted to get him something meaningful. So, I had had just a really good photo shoot with the kids and made wallets of the best ones of them. Then, I got him a new wallet and put in the pictures, a couple of gift cards, one for Sonic and one for Starbuck's, and he really liked it. Hope this is helpful!

Ren, Thanks so much for the great idea. His wallet is in bad shape so this would be great.

We've had to do things "on the cheap" for several years now. My hubby's b-day is the 4th of July, which adds to the cost when you consider BBQ, fireworks, etc.

Anyway, one neat and totally free idea is to create your own "music montage". Do you have Windows Movie Maker? It comes w/ Windows, I believe. Anyway, you simply insert your photos from your computer, import a favorite "fitting" song (mine was "I don't Want to Miss a Thing"), add a few "transitions" in between the photos, and voila`! A sweet music video that captures all the fond memories and thankfulness you want to convey.

Or if you have scrapbooking materials on-hand, you and the kids could create a personal "Daddy" scrapbook filled with all sorts of pictures and favorite memories of the current year.

We've done this as well. Each year, the kids & I make our own page and include the fun things we've done with Daddy that year, list whatever accomplishments of his we're most proud of (work? spiritual?), what he's taught us, how much we love him, etc.

Hey Lori - An older friend of mine had one of those husbands who had everything in the world, so she went online and bought him a STAR. I guess there is a web site where you dedicate an actual star in the sky to someone. The site then sends you the info on the star and exactly where it is located in the sky. I wish I knew the name of the site, but I am sure that some googling can fix that. I am sure that David will love whatever you give him. I am sure that your love is more than enough! In our house the birthday person gets to choose their supper meal and the theme for their cake. The children always get to choose daddys theme and help make it. Last fall, his theme was a football field, complete with some "guys" on it.
It's quite special for him to see how the children make and decorate his cake. We also make cards for the birthday person and the wrapping for the present. Although, mommy and daddy don't give presents to each other.
As the children get older they'll get to make something to give, in addition to the card.
Happy Birthday to David from us.

Thanks Debbie, I always do make David a cake and the kids make cards. Sometimes they're fancy, sometimes not. Still haven't decided what to do but I am getting great ideas. Thanks for reading my blog and comments.
