Amazing Bible World History Timeline

image

Doing this review has left me feeling quite ignorant.  Although there have been review items that I didn’t fall in love with immediately, up until this point I have at least felt like I had a firm grasp on what the product was all about.

Don’t get me wrong, I was excited when I got a note in my mailbox saying I had to go to the post office to pick up a package.   I had heard from other crewmates that they had received their timelines from Bible Charts and Maps and that it was HUGE.  So, I kind of had an idea what was waiting for me.  Or so I thought.

When I opened the package I found a very large 37” X 45” timeline.  As you can see in the picture, it is very colorful and looks really impressive.   It is divided into BC and AD and then further divided even further.   I have looked at the timeline several times and each time I keep saying “What?”  I showed it to my husband and after looking at it for a few minutes he said “What?”   I’m not sure what confuses me.  It is formatted in a circle which is different than any other timeline I have seen but I can understand that.  I just think all of the circles and the very small writing make it super confusing (At least to me and my family).

My kids looked at it and asked if they could use the back of it to trace my daughters body and fill it in with her insides.  So, I guess you can see that we’re more of a science family than a history one.

The company states that the timeline will help you:   See Bible and World History together, understand the Bible better by seeing everything organized in one view , know when key people or events happened, visualize the rise and fall of nations, and see the history of man at a glance.  Personally,  it just confused me.

During the review period of this product, several of the other crewmates brought up problems they had with the timeline because it has Mormon references to it.  The company references this problem and a few other questions that the crew members had here.   Come to find out, the company has two different websites.  One is for a Mormon (LDS) version of the map and other is the original which should have no reference to Mormon doctrine.  They explain that an error occurred in printing the original one and a few Mormon references were left in.  It seems odd to me that no one has noticed this before now.

When you order the timeline (either version) for $29.97 plus $6.00 shipping and handling,  you also receive free some extra things.  One is a PDF file of the Amazing Bible Timeline.   On this you can enlarge sections of the timeline that interest you.  I didn’t understand it any better when it was larger but this may be beneficial to some.  The second item is an interactive map of the Holy Land Download.  Lastly,a PDF file of the Genealogy of Jesus Christ in two different designs is included.  This, I was excited about.  It is a beautiful full sheet that can be printed and hung up.  I printed it to show my husband and while I was looking at it, I was once again confused.   I thought I could at least understand a simple family tree.  Under Mary’s lineage, I couldn’t find Mary except in reference to her being Joseph’s wife.   I’m not sure if this is a typo or this just further proves how little I know about history.  Oh well, I love the picture of the cross.   Oh yeah, the life size outline of Bella’s body turned out great, too!

I am sure that I did not do this product justice and I apologize that I couldn’t explain the timeline better .  Please check out the website where you can see for yourself if this would be something your family could use.    Also please visit the homeschool blogger page where you can read the other reviews on this product.
