Read Aloud Thursday

Hi again all of you book fans! We missed last week but are back today to let you know what we are reading.

I still haven't got the new Nicholas Sparks book. My sister bought it but hasn't finished it yet so I'm still waiting. In the meantime I am reading No Time to Wave Goodbye by Jacquelyn Mitchard. This is the sequel to Deep End of the Ocean. I am about halfway through the book (which I started this morning) and I have already cried twice. This is a definite tear jerker.

Griffin (my 10 yo son) is reading the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. It is titled Dog Days. We got this in at the library yesterday and he was so excited to be the first to get it. I am always excited to see him enjoy reading and this series has done this for him. I wish they would write faster in this series.

As a family we are reading "The Best (Worst) Halloween Ever by Barbara Robinson. If you have read the Best (Worst) Christmas Pagent Ever and enjoyed it you will love this one just as much. The Herdsman are back and are better (or should I say worse) than ever. They are terrorizing the children of the school and the parents. We are a little over halfway done with this book.

Of cou
rse, David isn't reading anything. He says the only thing he read this week was the directions on the back of the Chef Boy R Dee Box. He has read to the kids at night again. We've refrained from making fun of his noises and voices. He's pretty cute when he does these.

Have a great week. Happy Reading! Please visit Read Aloud Thursday at Hope is the Word.

:-) for your dh for reading the Chef Boyardee box. ;-)

I've never read any of the Wimpy Kid books, but I know they're popular. Would they appeal to girls, too?

I've also never read any of the Mitchard books, but I hear they are real tear jerkers.

Thanks for participating again in Read Aloud Thursday! :-)

The Christmas Pageant book is one I've heard so much about but have never read. This year! Meantime, maybe we'll check out that Halloween book. Thanks for sharing your reading!

I loved the Best Christmas Pagent ever. A boy in second grade, when I taught, was saved while the class was reading that book. In public school, no less.
It wasn't in my classroom, but a friend's. He asked her about getting saved. She wasn't sure she could help him without getting into trouble, but knew of a classmate who could...and did, with her help.
It was a awesome experience for her and both little boys.
And...me.... when I told my grandpa about it, he accepted Christ also. That was a miracle for me to be part of. He was in a nursing home with severe Alzheimer's. He hadn't known anyone, even me for 6 mo. But, that visit, he was right with me and came to know Jesus. He never knew me again. But, he knew the One that counted.
Anyway...that book will always be precious to me.
