Eco Store – Mama Buzz Review

image

We are all about going green in this house.  We have been using homemade laundry detergent for about a year now.  Honestly, as long as it gets my clothes clean and smells good, I’m all for it.    I love trying new things that will help save our planet.

I received 2 products from Eco Store.   This is a company that is based in New Zealand that is really serious about being “green”.  You can read there story on their website at www.ecostoreusa.com.  As I said before, I love using safe laundry detergent.  So, when i was asked what I would like to review, I, of course, picked the Laundry Powder  and Pure Oxygen Whitener.  The detergent that I made previously worked well but honestly didn’t smell too great.  I still was using Fabric Softener to get the smell we like for our laundry.  image

The Laundry Powder, at 35.3 oz is a nice size.  I have been using this exclusively since I received it and I still have quite a bit left.  It gets our clothes clean.  It also smells really good.  You know that name brand candle company that sells clean linen scented candles?  This reminds me a lot of that.  I haven’t had to use the fabric softener with this laundry detergent.  You can get this detergent for $11.00.   They also have a version just for front loader washers.

This is a plant and mineral based concentrate which contains absolutely “No Nasty Chemicals”.  This means:

No dyes

No ammonia

No enzymes

No phosphates

You get the idea.  No bad stuff in this companies products.  It comes with a handy scoop that measures out 40 ml’s.  I lost mine the first time I used it so I used a measuring cup and guessed on the amount.  I think I’m using a little less than the recommended amount and the clothes still smell great and are clean.  The box says an average of 25 loads (I know I’ve already done 20 loads and still have almost 1/2 a box left.)image

The second item I picked to receive was the Pure Oxygen  Whitener.  It sells for $12.00 and is also 35.3 oz.   This is a great alternative to the harsh chemicals in bleach.  It contains oil of citrus and Coconut and some other plant based ingredients.  It brightens and cleans clothes great.  I used it on coloreds and whites and had no problems.    102_6076

This is my son’s swimming trunks.  We went swimming in a lake and the left side is before we washed them.  The wh102_6075ite part of the trunks was very brown from the water.  The picture on the right is after.  The white was white again!  I really was impressed with this product.  The best thing is you only use 2 TBS per load of laundry.  I will not go back to bleach.  Just the smell of  bleach alone should be enough to let us know it isn’t good for you.   This has a nice clean smell.  Even though this is much safer than normal bleach, you should still use caution and keep out of reach of children.

We love to go camping.  When we do this we wash our clothes outside.  We always have to be careful to throw the water out in a drain so we doesn’t hurt the grass.  The really cool thing about these products is that they are safe for the environment.  You can water trees or flowers with grey water (that means what is left after you wash the clothes) that has this whitener in it.   Isn’t that neat?

Eco Store has over 100 products that contain no nasty chemicals.  I can’t wait to try the dish washer detergent.  That will be a big test because there is only one brand that I think works well enough to use in our house.  I’ll let you know what I think after I try it.

If you are trying to help save the planet by using safer products, then I really recommend trying Eco Store.

Please note that I received free products from Eco Store in exchange for my honest opinion in this review.  No other compensation was provided.  Thank you to Mama Buzz and Eco Store for this opportunity.
