Maestro Classics – Peter and the Wolf

Product: Peter and the Wolf CD

Company: Maestro Classics

Website: http://www.maestroclassics.com/

Price: $16.98

Maestro Classics is a company that through wondrous new recordings, innovative educational and performance materials, and uplifting live performances, guides audiences as they expand their listening horizons and discover the magic that can only be called music. (Okay, I borrowed that from their website.)

I was able to review The Tortoise and the Hare last year for this company. You can read that review here. This time, I received Peter and the Wolf. I have never read this book, but was very excited to be getting this. Maestro Classics gives award winning recordings of well known stories set to classical music for you and your family to enjoy.

Bonnie Ward Simon and Stephen Simon are the creators of these really neat recordings. The website states

The award-winning new classical music CD series for children and families combines classic
stories with great symphony orchestra music. Combining literature, classical music, education
and entertainment, these CDs for parents and children are perfect for ALL kids and interested
parents. Once it was Baby Mozart, Raffi, ClassicalKids; now it is time for Maestro Classics.

Each CD contains the story along with an instrumental version. These CD’s are a great way to introduce your children to orchestra music. The CD comes with an activity booklet that has fun things for your child to do while listening to the CD including a dot-to-dot, match the instrument to the picture, crack the code and more. There is also the sheet music for the song.

There are seven different classic stories to choose from including the one I received, Peter and the Wolf. This tells the story of a boy nameimaged Peter who after disobeying his grandfather, he encounters a wolf. After a great adventure including a bird, a duck and a cat, Peter captures the wolf. Our family really enjoyed this story and Bella even asked if we could get the book from the library the next time we go. We usually color or draw while listening because my kids focus better when their hands are busy.

Each CD is $16.98 but you can get a great deal by clicking the picture below. This is a great time to add three of these CD’s to your homeschool library.

You can listen to samples of the music and more on the website.
