All about Reading: What am I? – TOS review

image

I was blessed with the All About Spelling curriculum earlier this year. You can read that review here. Later I received the Beehive Reader from AAS and we loved it. This company has provided great materials to our family this year and they just keep coming. A new reader has come out from All About Reading called What Am I? a collection of short stories by Marie Rippel and Renee La Tulippe.that follows the Beehive reader. It can be used as a stand alone reader or as a supplement reader with All about Spelling.

image Once again, the pictures are pencil drawings in black and white. Bella really enjoys these types of pictures and read through this book very quickly. There are ten stories for your emerging reader to enjoy.

As you can see, the pictures are done nicely and the font is easy to read. Bella likes the lines on the pages and says this helps her to keep track.

This reader is a little more advanced that the first one but still a very early reader. Bella, who is in first grade, had no problem reading this book.

All About Spelling is bringing out a new reading program later this year which can be used by itself or in connection with the All About Spelling program. The Beehive reader (which they are renaming “Cobweb Cat” and this one will be the first two books in the program. They then will add two readers per level.

This reader is available at All about Spelling for $19.95. I am anxious to see the price for the reading program if each reader is this price. Although the price is a little more than what I would expect, it is a great, hardback book for your little ones.

Please read what the other crew members have to say about this cute little reader. Check out the website at www.all-about-spelling.com to see what all this company offers.

** Please note that I received this reader at no charge in exchange for my honest opinion in this review. No other compensation was provided to me. Thank you TOS and All About Spelling for this opportunity.
